EAVESDROPPING WALL
Unexpected interactions with a wall that listens
- 01OVERVIEW
- 02IMPACT
This interactive art installation made its debut at the
New York Hall of Science - Maker Faire and featured
at Paul Simon’s farewell concert afterparty. A wall that
listens to people’s conversations nearby and reacts
with funny visuals based on what is said. Its intention
being to highlight the invasive nature of devices in our
private lives, inviting reflection on our diminished privacy
in a time of pervasive digital surveillance.
People were both shocked and amused to see their
conversations turned into memes right before their
eyes. It made them laugh, provoked thought, and
sparked a dialogue on the boundaries of technology
and privacy.
